Introduction

Sewn joints and repairs have been referred to in the Jeaune-Garde B (2nd century BC) wrecks.1 Two old frames were reinforced by another two new ones, that were sewn to the hull, while all the original ones were nailed with treenails and iron nails. Both holes were closed with small pegs.
