The remains of a small boat found near Nin in Yugoslavia and dating from the 1-3rd century AD show the continuity of this tradition (sewn style of Cervia and Pomposa) on the Adriatic sea. These remains, measuring around 1.20 x .80 m, belonged to a small vessel with a keel 7.5 cm molded to which were sewn six planks 13-15 cm sided. The holes for the lashes were pierced every 2.5 cm and also closed with small pegs. This technique was also found in a large river boat dated from the 9th to the 5th century BC, found also in Yugoslavia in 1890 at Ljubljana.
