== Background ==

Lost in the 1622 hurricane and found by treasure hunter Melvin Fisher, this wreck had preserved at least a part of its upper works in the stern castle. A picture and a drawing of this portion of hull have been published. The Margarita is said to have had dovetail joints in its upper works and to have possibly been completely sheathed with lead1.
