J. Richard Steffy   The Ship Reconstruction Laboratory was created by Mr. J. Richard Steffy in 1976. Mr. Steffy was a role model for all the students that passed through the Ship Lab in the last 26 years, both from the technical and the human relations viewpoints, because he was both one of the most knowledgeable researchers in the world of nautical archaeology, and a lot of fun to be around. Around here we refer to his book as the Good Book, and no student who respects himself ever dared not to know its index by heart. By the end of their first semester in the Nautical Archaeology Program all students are expected to be acquainted to Mr. Steffy's basic bibliography (see below). Remembering J.
