Rigging

Three heart blocks and a few pieces of rope were fond on the port side of the shipwreck, on Trench 4. These particular type of heart blocks - in Portuguese sapatas trincadas - was typical in the late 16^th century, to adjust the forestay or the shrouds. Since they were used in pairs it is possible that further excavation will reveal more of these heart blocks.
