The M.S. program is a two-year degree program. Here is a general outline for Master’s students of the steps needed to complete the program over four semesters. M.S. students must complete 5 required courses, normally during their first year with a total of 32 credit hours required for graduation.
- 1st semester – Meet with the NAP M.S. advisor
- 2nd semester – Form a thesis committee, consisting of 2 NAP faculty and 1 faculty
member outside of the ANTH department, then complete and submit degree plan - Summer – Internship/fieldwork/lab experience
- 3rd semester – Submit thesis proposal and begin writing the thesis. Submit the thesis to
the chair then to the rest of the committee. - 4th (Spring) / 5th (Summer) Semesters – Submit completed thesis, apply for graduation,
and complete final exam if needed.
