Contact Us

Every artifact collection is unique and will vary in the time, techniques, and level of expertise required for conservation. If you are interested in any of our services, contact our Lab Manager at crl@tamu.edu for a quote.

If you have any special requests regarding the conservation or administration of the collection (for example, project deadlines, requests for analysis, or special packing preferences), please include them.

Useful Information & What to Expect

The more information you are able to provide about the collection, the more accurate we can be in determining the estimate. Photos and spreadsheets provide the most information, but a basic inventory with general descriptions and measurements can be helpful if the collection has not yet been fully documented; for example, “16 pieces of ferrous hardware less than 1 foot in length, 3 intact glass bottles, and 10 wood barrel staves approximately 3 feet long” provides much more context than “29 ferrous, glass, and wood artifacts”.

Once we have the information we need, we will discuss likely treatments, estimate the time and resources required, and draft a scope of work. This information will be forwarded to our business office to provide a cost estimate. Large-scale projects will require us to work with our contracting office. Once this process is complete, we will then send you the scope of work and estimate. Additional requests at this time may require us to repeat this process.

Depending on the size and complexity of the collection and any special requests, this process may take several weeks to complete.
